Zoo Internships
The Cougar Mountain Zoo Internship Program is designed to introduce college students or graduates seeking theoretical as well as hands on experience in the many facets of the zoo world. Participants are exposed to a broad range of fields inherent in zoo operations such as education, conservation, fundraising, public relations, animal husbandry, medical, and many others.

How to apply:
Fill out and submit the Internship Application online by using the link below. Please include a CV and Cover Letter. Once your submission has been reviewed, you will be contacted on proceeding to the next phase. Selected interns must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work weekdays and weekends. All positions are unpaid with no housing provided. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Please refer to application for details. Internship Positions are limited and subject to availability.

Intern Programs
Program I – 320 hrs.
Program II – 420 hrs.
Function in the prescribed discipline 5-8 hours per day until fulfillment of program hours. 24-40 hour a week commitment.
Spring 2025 – Application Deadline 02/15/25
Summer 2025 – Application Deadline 03/15/25
Fall/Winter 2025 – Application Deadline 07/15/25

Registration Requirements
- Submission of intern program application
- Active health insurance coverage
- Tuberculosis test and current tetanus vaccination
- $200 one-time administration fee* once accepted
* administration fee will be returned upon fulfillment of pre-established personal commitment
