The Cougar Mountain Zoo Volunteer Program

The Cougar Mountain Zoo Volunteer Program offers a broad variety of unique experiences for qualified volunteers.

There are many reasons why you should become a volunteer and share the joy this fulfilling involvement offers.

Volunteering at the Zoo offers a chance to enrich your life through a better understanding of nature and the earth's vanishing wildlife.

As a Volunteer you get to know and develop a special relationship with others who share a common interest.

You will gain valuable experience, training, interact with some of the most unique and endangered animals, play an important role in the conservation of wildlife and promote the cause of the natural world.

As a Volunteer you will also be the recipient of the appreciation and recognition one deserves for volunteering time and talent to a noble cause.

"The objective to preserve the earth’s
vanishing wildlife is an
Extraordinary cause,
requiring Extraordinary effort
by Extraordinary people."

How to Do It

Our Volunteer Program requires special people with a sincere desire and commitment to the Zoo’s philosophy of education, conservation and a quality life for our Zoo Animals.

To become a Volunteer one must be at least eighteen years old and serious about making a time commitment. Previous experience is not necessary.

The first step in becoming a Volunteer is scheduling a personal introductory meeting at the Zoo. During this informal meeting your questions are answered and all information concerning volunteering reviewed.

To schedule your introductory meeting please contact the Cougar Mountain Zoo's Education Department. Phone: 425-392-6278

"It is ironic
how we stretch our imagination
and seek extraterrestial life forms
with unique qualities
in the dark vastness of space,
when in essence
they are amongst us
in the light of the day.
Those mysterioous life forms
that we call animals."
